Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has lost his mother, following what family sources described as a brief illness. The death was confirmed on Thursday by his brother, David Chukwueze, in a series of posts on Instagram. No official cause of death was disclosed.
Sources close to the family said Chukwueze’s mother had been ill for some time, with the footballer reportedly travelling between England and Italy during the first half of the season while she received treatment. Chukwueze is currently on loan from AC Milan to Fulham.

The death comes days after Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi lost his father in a road accident. Chukwueze, who featured for Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, has since returned to club action and has recorded three goals and three assists for Fulham this season.
