Kogi shuts markets and motor parks in seven LGs over security

The Kogi State Government has ordered the temporary closure of markets and motor parks across seven local government areas in the Kogi West Senatorial District to support ongoing security operations against terrorists, bandits and other criminal groups.

The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said the measure is part of intensified clearance operations being carried out with the Office of the National Security Adviser and security agencies. He said the closures are intended to cut off logistics, restrict the movement of goods and deny criminal elements access to food supplies and other support.
