An Iranian army helicopter crashed into a fruit market in Dorcheh, Isfahan province, on Tuesday morning, killing two military pilots and two merchants. State media reported the crash was likely caused by a technical fault.
The army identified the deceased soldiers as Colonel Hamed Sarvazad, the pilot, and his co-pilot, Major Mojtaba Kiani. Local authorities have opened an investigation into the incident.
Footage from the scene showed wreckage and emergency responders extinguishing a fire. The crash comes less than a week after a U.S.-built F-4 fighter jet crashed during a training mission in Hamadan province, killing one pilot.
