Hold Religious Activities by Day Not Night, Police Advices Ondo Worshippers

Five Farmers Killed in Suspected Herdsmen Attack in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has launched an investigation into the abduction of five worshippers during an early morning attack on a church in Owo. Armed men stormed a branch of the Celestial Church of Christ at about 1 am on Wednesday while a service was underway and took the victims to an unknown destination.

Speaking on a TV interview, the Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, said investigations were ongoing and that the identities and motives of those responsible would be made public once inquiries are complete.

Mr Lawal urged residents to hold religious activities during the day, citing the current security situation. He said night services, particularly in isolated areas, pose risks and advised organisers to inform the police in advance if such gatherings are planned so officers can be deployed.
