Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has named Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, and Rema as her personal ‘big three’ in Afrobeats. She made the revelation in a recent interview with HOT 97, describing the three artists as her “solid big three.”
The choice contrasts with the popular debate among fans, who often cite Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy as the industry’s top performers. Ayra Starr said her selection reflects her personal admiration rather than industry consensus.
The concept of a ‘big three’ has drawn criticism from other artistes. In September 2025, Tiwa Savage said the idea downplays the achievements of other successful performers and that Afrobeats is broader than just three acts.
