Wizkid has sparked excitement among fans with a cryptic social media post hinting at new music, taking to his X page to simply write “Album🦅” without providing further details about the forthcoming project. The post comes nearly two years after the release of his fifth studio album ‘Morayo’ in November 2024, which was dedicated to his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
The 35-year-old singer, born Ayodeji Balogun, has not revealed the title, tracklist, or release date of the new project. Fans have taken to social media to express their anticipation and speculate about what the artist has in store.
Wizkid gained prominence in 2011 when he released his debut album ‘Superstar’. He has released four additional albums, including ‘Ayo’ in 2014, ‘Sound From The Other Side’ in 2017, and ‘Made In Lagos’ in 2020, which featured global artists like Damian Marley, Skepta, H.E.R, Ella Mai, Burna Boy, Tems, and Terri. He followed it up with ‘More Love, Less Ego’, a 13-track album released in 2022.
The singer has also received numerous recognitions, including a Grammy Award in 2021 for his collaboration with Beyoncé on the hit song ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
