The Lagos State Government has begun an investigation into the death of socialite Elena Jessica, who reportedly died after complications from a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure. The surgery was said to have taken place at a private aesthetic hospital in the state.
Jessica’s death has sparked reactions on social media, with family and members of the public calling for a probe into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The government says the investigation is being handled by the Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency, the body responsible for regulating health facilities in Lagos.

Authorities say the probe will review the hospital’s compliance with medical regulations, including the qualifications of the personnel involved and the care given to the patient before and after the procedure. Residents are also advised to seek cosmetic procedures only from accredited facilities and qualified professionals.
