The Federal Government says Jupiter Ltd is planning a smear campaign against Nigeria during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit to the United Kingdom. The company is accused of spreading false claims to discredit mining sector reforms.
Segun Tomori, Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, stressed that Jupiter Ltd has no legal or contractual ties with Nigeria. The dispute follows the revocation of mineral titles from a Nigerian company linked to an Australian national for failing to pay over N2 billion in statutory fees.
Officials also claim the individual behind the companies operates multiple firms without actual mining, blocking genuine investors. The government says reforms are meant to curb illegal practices and attract serious investors.

Nigeria urges citizens and the international community to ignore false claims. The country remains open to compliant investors and offers incentives like tax waivers and full repatriation of profits to support the mining sector.
