UEFA has cancelled the Finalissima match between Argentina and Spain due to security concerns linked to the ongoing US/Israel war against Iran. The match was scheduled for March 27 in Doha, Qatar and would have featured Spain as Euro 2024 champions against Argentina, winners of Copa América 2024.
Officials said they could not find an alternative date or venue because of escalating tensions in the Middle East. UEFA described the cancellation as a great disappointment for both teams and organisers.
The Finalissima is organised jointly by UEFA and South America’s CONMEBOL, bringing together the European and South American champions.

Attempts to relocate or reschedule the match failed due to conflicts with international fixtures and security risks. The cancellation comes as the war continues to disrupt activities across the region, including aviation, energy markets, and major international events.
