Tensions in the Middle East escalated sharply as Iran launched missile strikes on Qatar and Saudi Arabia following attacks on its Pars gas field. The strikes targeted energy infrastructure, including the Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar and facilities in eastern Saudi Arabia, raising concerns about global oil supply disruptions.
Qatar’s state-owned energy company, QatarEnergy, reported extensive damage to its industrial hub but said workers had been safely evacuated. Saudi authorities confirmed they intercepted four ballistic missiles aimed at Riyadh and stopped an attempted drone attack on a gas facility in the east of the country.
The conflict comes amid rising global oil prices, with Brent crude reaching over $108/barrel. U.S. officials have warned that the unrest could further strain energy markets.
