The Confederation of African Football has confirmed Morocco as the winners of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations following a ruling by its Appeals Board.
The decision, issued on 18 March, overturned the result of the final played on 18 January in Rabat, where Senegal had initially been declared winners. CAF ruled that Senegal forfeited the match after their players temporarily walked off the pitch during the game.
Under tournament regulations, the incident resulted in a 3–0 victory awarded to Morocco, giving the North African side their second AFCON title and first since 1976. Senegal are now listed as runners-up, while Nigeria remains third.

Senegal’s football federation has rejected the decision and plans to challenge it at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, while Moroccan authorities have welcomed the ruling.
