LIRS Extends Tax Return Deadline To April 14

The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service has extended the deadline for filing individual annual income tax returns to April 14. The announcement was made on Monday in a statement signed by the Head of Corporate Communications, Monsurat Amasa-Oyelude.

The agency’s Executive Chairman, Ayodele Subair, said the extension from the original March 31 deadline is to give taxpayers more time to complete their filings accurately. He urged individuals to treat tax compliance as a routine obligation and prioritise timely submission.

Subair said all returns must be submitted electronically through the LIRS eTax platform, noting that manual filing has been fully phased out. He described the platform as secure, user-friendly and accessible at all times.
