Nigeria’s military campaign is showing renewed momentum as hundreds of insurgents surrender and kidnapped victims regain freedom across multiple theatres of operation. The Defence Headquarters Nigeria says sustained pressure on armed groups is forcing a shift in the conflict.
According to data released for March, 197 insurgents surrendered to troops, while 1,359 suspects, including terrorists, criminals, and informants, were arrested. The military also confirmed that 103 terrorists were killed during coordinated operations targeting key figures linked to violent attacks.
On the humanitarian front, troops rescued 813 kidnapped hostages, reflecting intensified rescue efforts nationwide. Operations in the Niger Delta also led to the destruction of 104 illegal refining sites as part of efforts to curb oil theft and environmental damage.
