The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has warned that American forces will remain deployed around Iran and threatened further military action if Tehran fails to meet US demands, raising concerns about a fragile ceasefire.
In a social media post late Wednesday, Mr Trump said US troops, aircraft, and naval forces would stay in position until what he described as a “real agreement” is fully implemented. He added that failure to comply could trigger a renewed and intensified conflict.
The warning comes a day after a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, brokered by Pakistan, paused six weeks of fighting and eased fears of disruption to global oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.

However, uncertainty remains as Iran has rejected key US proposals, while Israeli strikes in Lebanon continue. Iranian officials say a delegation is expected in Islamabad for talks, as concerns grow that the truce may not hold.
