Terrorists Attack Military Base in Kwara, Kill Three Soldiers

Three soldiers of the Nigerian Army have been killed following an attack by suspected terrorists on a military base in Kemanji community, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday during a gun battle between troops and the attackers.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq confirmed the development and expressed condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers. He says the troops successfully repelled the attack, neutralised several of the assailants and prevented them from gaining access to the community.

The governor notes that the soldiers also stopped an attempted kidnapping during the assault, maintaining that their sacrifice will not be forgotten. He adds that the state government will continue to support the families of the deceased and strengthen efforts to safeguard lives and property.

The attack in Kwara comes amid a series of recent incidents involving the military in other parts of the country, including Borno State. Defence authorities, including the Director of Defence Media Operations, Michael Onoja, have continued to highlight ongoing efforts by the armed forces to respond to coordinated terrorist threats across affected regions.
