A Kaduna State High Court has adjourned the bail application of former governor Nasir El-Rufai to the first week of June 2026.
Justice Darius Khobo fixed the new date on Tuesday as El-Rufai faces multiple charges filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, including alleged financial crimes, fraud, and abuse of office.
The former governor, who arrived at the court in Kaduna under heavy security, has been in custody since February 19 after his release by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and was later granted compassionate release on March 27 following his mother’s death.

His defence team says he is not a flight risk and will comply with bail conditions, while prosecutors have urged the court to consider the seriousness of the charges.
