The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, says empowering women remains central to Nigeria’s national development. She spoke in Abuja at the graduation ceremony of the “Seed for Change: Creative Women Residency” programme.
She urged Nigerian women to use creativity as a tool for inclusive economic growth, noting that partnerships between government and non-state actors are key to unlocking women’s potential.
The minister said the federal government is working to empower more than 50 million women across the 774 local government areas to promote self-reliance and support families.
