Edo police assure safety on Lagos–Benin expressway after kidnapping

The Edo State Police Command has described the recent abduction on the Lagos–Benin expressway as an isolated incident, insisting that security operatives remain firmly in control of the route.

Police spokesperson Eno Ikoedem said that the command has strengthened deployments along the highway and regularly reviews its security strategy to address any gaps.

Last week, armed men attacked a bus travelling from Lagos towards eastern Nigeria along the expressway, killing the driver, abducting three passengers and leaving one woman injured.
