Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have repelled a coordinated attack on the Kukareta community in the Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State. The operation took place in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to the Theatre Command, the terrorists launched the assault shortly after midnight, but troops responded with a swift counter-operation that lasted until about 3 am. The attackers were forced into retreat during the engagement.
The military says 24 terrorists were killed during the operation, while weapons including AK-47 rifles, machine guns, RPG tubes and ammunition were recovered. Two soldiers were wounded and have been stabilised, while a damaged armoured vehicle was also reported.

Exploitation operations are ongoing along the withdrawal routes as troops continue to search for additional bodies and equipment.
