Filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has dismissed claims that she ignored Fuji musician Wasiu Pasuma at a recent social gathering. The allegation followed the circulation of a short video clip online, which suggested the actress failed to acknowledge the singer during an event in Lagos.
The clip, shared on social media, showed Akindele greeting fellow actress Fathia Balogun while Pasuma was seated nearby. The footage quickly drew reactions, with some users claiming the actress deliberately avoided the Fuji star during the celebration held in honour of Balogun.
Responding to the claims, Akindele said the video did not present the full sequence of events. She maintained that she had interacted with Pasuma at the gathering, explaining that she greeted and danced with him before moving on to other guests.

A longer version of the video later surfaced online, appearing to support her account by showing a brief exchange between both entertainers. The actress has urged social media users to avoid spreading misleading narratives, stressing that the incident had been misrepresented through selective editing of the footage.
