The Nigeria Premier Football League title race has tightened after key weekend results, with Rangers International remaining top of the table. The league is now heading into a tense finish with just two matches left for most teams.
Rangers secured a crucial away win over Bayelsa United in Yenagoa, with goals from Chidiebere Nwobodo and Godwin Obaje keeping them on 62 points from 36 matches. Bayelsa United remain at the bottom of the table after the defeat.
Rivers United also stayed in contention with a dominant 3-0 win over Abia Warriors in Port Harcourt, moving to 61 points, just one behind Rangers. Shooting Stars strengthened their continental hopes with a 3-2 win over Nasarawa United in Ibadan.

At the other end of the table, the relegation battle remains tight, with several clubs still fighting to avoid the drop.
