Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has reduced the price of aviation fuel, also known as Jet A1, from N1,750 to N1,650 per litre in a move aimed at easing pressure on domestic airlines.
The refinery announced the reduction on Tuesday, saying it also introduced a 30-day interest-free credit facility for marketers and airline operators backed by bank guarantees, alongside a transition to naira-denominated pricing.
Airline operators in Nigeria have faced rising operational costs in recent months, with aviation fuel prices climbing above N2,500 per litre in some areas during April and May, leading to flight delays, cancellations and reduced flight frequencies.

The refinery says the latest reduction is expected to lower fuel procurement costs, improve operational stability for airlines and support efforts to moderate airfares across the country.
