The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on governments and security agencies to take urgent action to protect children across the country amid growing insecurity.
In a statement marking Children’s Day 2026, the association expressed concern over recent attacks on schools, including reported abductions of pupils and teachers in parts of Oyo State, saying the incidents have heightened fear among parents and communities.
CAN said no child should be exposed to violence in schools, stressing that teachers and pupils must be guaranteed safety in learning environments.
