A Nigerian footballer, Victor Udoh, has died at the age of 21 after being found in Abuja. The cause of death has not been confirmed, although reports suggest possible food or alcohol poisoning.
Udoh, a former Southampton forward, was said to have returned to Nigeria after the 2025/2026 season. He was reportedly last seen on Monday night when he went out with friends.
The following morning, he was found dead. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and investigations are ongoing.

Southampton and Royal Antwerp, two of his former clubs, have paid tribute to the striker, describing him as a talented player and offering condolences to his family and loved ones. Udoh began his career at Hypebuzz FC in Abuja before moving abroad in 2023, where he played for Royal Antwerp and later Southampton, before joining Czech side Dynamo České Budějovice in October 2025.
