LASG empowers 1,000 creatives under Skill Up initiative

Lagos Lists 176 Illegal Estates, Issues 21-Day Ultimatum

The Lagos State Government says it has empowered over 1,000 creatives through its Skill Up Lagos initiative aimed at strengthening the state’s creative economy and supporting sustainable livelihoods.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe, disclosed this in Lagos during the 2026 Ministerial Press Briefing in Alausa.

He said the beneficiaries, trained over the past 24 months, include artists, designers, performers and cultural entrepreneurs who were supported through the Lagos Cultural Mission framework to build skills and gain visibility.
