Three Dead as Train Derails on Warri-Itakpe Rail Corridor

Three people died when a train derailed on the Warri-Itakpe rail corridor in Agbor, Delta State, on Monday, according to a statement by the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Kayode Opeifa. 

The NRC boss said emergency response teams and relevant authorities arrived at the scene, providing assistance to those affected and closely monitoring developments, while a detailed statement on the situation will be issued as soon as more information becomes available. 

In an update posted on X, the presidency confirmed that three people died in the accident, stating that relevant authorities continue to assess the full circumstances surrounding the incident while support is being provided to affected passengers. The presidency added that the thoughts and prayers of all Nigerians are with the victims and their loved ones.
