The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, says the Federal Government is planning to extend the Ikeja rail line to the airports in Lagos State. He says the project will be carried out in partnership with the Lagos State Government.
Keyamo disclosed this on Monday at the Lagos Invest 3.0 summit, saying the rail extension will connect Ikeja Bus Stop to the General Aviation Terminal, the domestic terminal, the Bi-Courtney facility and the international airport.
He said work on the project is expected to begin soon, describing it as part of efforts to improve aviation infrastructure in Lagos. The minister also said Lagos is positioned for further expansion in its aviation sector.
Keyamo added that the Federal Government, under President Bola Tinubu, had resolved a long-standing 20-year dispute involving a private investor at the Lagos airport, describing it as a major step forward for the sector.
