President Bola Tinubu has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for operations in Kogi State that led to the killing of a suspected bandit kingpin, Ibrahim Bastuji, and the rescue of the widow of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar.
In a statement issued by the President’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the operation against Bastuji as a major setback for criminal groups responsible for kidnappings and attacks in Kogi State and neighbouring communities.
The President also praised troops for rescuing Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar, widow of the late former Director of Defence Information, Major General Rabe Abubakar. He said the operation demonstrated the professionalism and determination of Nigeria’s security forces.
President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing the Armed Forces with the resources, training and support needed to combat banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes, while urging citizens to continue sharing information with security agencies.
