Bandits Kill Chief Imam, Three Others in Sokoto Attack

Suspected bandits have killed the Chief Imam of Kuda-Kuda village, Liman Audu, and three other residents during an attack on the community in Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

Residents said the attackers stormed the village at about 12:58 a.m. on Thursday, shooting sporadically, rustling livestock and abducting several people, including married women. The assailants reportedly operated for nearly two hours before fleeing.

The other victims were identified as Yahaya Hasanu, Zahara Mu’azu and Ibrahim Dayyabu. Residents said several people were also injured and taken to the hospital in Sokoto, while those abducted included Malam Shehu Farar Zaki, Yar Yamma, Khadija and at least six others.

Community members said Kuda-Kuda has suffered repeated bandit attacks and called for increased security presence in the area.
