Rescuers Pull 6 Survivors from Collapsed Lagos Building

A three-storey commercial building has collapsed at Alakija Bus Stop in the Satellite Town area of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, prompting an ongoing search and rescue operation.

Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotosho, said on Thursday that six people had been rescued from the rubble, while emergency workers continued efforts to locate others believed to be trapped beneath the debris.

The building, which housed several small businesses, collapsed on Thursday morning. Rescue teams, including emergency responders, deployed heavy equipment to clear the site and reach victims trapped under the wreckage.

However, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said 10 people had been rescued alive with varying degrees of injuries and handed over to medical personnel for treatment. The agency added that search and rescue operations were continuing.
