The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has called on political leaders to prioritise governance that addresses the needs of the people, rather than focusing on personal ambition. ACF Chairman, Mamman Mike Osuman (SAN), made the appeal during the forum’s 715th National Executive Committee meeting in Kaduna on Thursday.
Osuman also expressed grave concern over the resurgence of terror attacks in Borno and Plateau states, alongside the recent killings of northerners in Uromi, Edo State. He stressed that the rising wave of insecurity in the northern region requires immediate and concerted action.

The chairman highlighted the significant impact of these security challenges, which have disrupted the peaceful coexistence of communities, leading to abandoned farmlands, school closures, and halted trade activities. He noted that these disruptions are severely affecting the livelihoods of many.
Osuman expressed hope that the ACF’s newly established security committee would soon provide a clearer understanding of the root causes of insecurity in the region and help address these pressing issues.
