Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have repelled a coordinated attack by Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters on their Forward Operating Base in Mallam Fatori, Borno State. The pre-dawn assault saw insurgents launch drones and mortar shells in an attempt to breach the base’s defences.
Backed by Sector 3 units and Nigerien air support, Nigerian troops fought fiercely, killing several attackers and forcing the rest to flee through the Tumbun waterways. Weapons recovered included AK-47 rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, armed drone bombs, and ammunition.
