The Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, says anti-corruption agencies have recovered ₦277 billion and $105 million so far in 2024.
Speaking at an asset recovery summit in Abuja, Fagbemi revealed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reclaimed ₦248 billion, $105 million, and 753 duplexes, while the Independent Corrupt Practices & Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) recovered nearly ₦30 billion and $966,900.

He also disclosed that Nigeria has repatriated over $763 million and £6.4 million from abroad since 2017, working with international partners including the UK, US, and Switzerland.
The Justice Minister said efforts are underway to improve transparency, including civil society monitoring and independent audits of recovered assets, but added that challenges in cross-border recoveries remain.
