A former presidential aide Aliyu Audu has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of destroying both the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress concurrently, with President Bola Tinubu’s support.
Speaking in an interview monitored by RadioNow’s news desk, Audu, an APC member, said Wike remains in the PDP but controls APC structures in Rivers State and the FCT. He described this as a major problem for both parties, claiming the presidency is using state power through the FCT ministry to back Wike in weakening the opposition.

Audu also said many APC members who voted for Tinubu are now aggrieved, warning against moves that destroy institutions like the APC, PDP, and Labour Party. He argued that while Tinubu benefitted from a strong opposition to become president, his government is now enabling actions that undermine political rivalry.
He urged party members and leaders to confront these internal contradictions instead of sidestepping them, saying failure to do so would keep haunting the party and the country’s democratic development.
