The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has suspended its National Chairman, Mamman Osuman, for issuing an unauthorised statement without consulting other leaders.
In the suspension was announced on Thursday by Bashir Dalhatu, Chairman of the ACF Board of Trustees, and Murtala Aliyu, the forum’s secretary, they described Osuman’s actions as unilateral and not reflective of the forum’s position.
Mr. Osuman who had earlier criticised northern leaders for failing to address the region’s challenges, questioning the efforts of governors and lawmakers to mitigate the economic hardships caused by President Bola Tinubu’s policies also declared support for a northern candidate in the 2027 general elections.

The ACF clarified that Osuman’s remarks were made without prior consultation, emphasizing that the forum remains committed to its principles of collective decision-making and non-partisanship.
