The Nigerian Army says it has arrested 43 individuals suspected of involvement in oil theft and recovered over 250,000 litres of stolen petroleum products following a series of operations in the Niger Delta.
According to a statement issued in Port Harcourt by Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 6 Division, the arrests were made during a coordinated six-day operation conducted alongside other security agencies.

Troops also destroyed 14 illegal refineries and impounded 14 boats used in the illicit trade across Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa States.
The Army said the clampdown was part of ongoing efforts to curb crude oil theft and protect the nation’s critical economic infrastructure.
