The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State says it will appeal a court judgement which disqualified its governorship candidate, Timipre Sylva, from contesting in the November 11 election.
Federal High Court judge, Justice Donatus Okorowo, on Monday ruled that Mr Sylva had already been sworn into office twice before and served five years as Governor.

According to Justice Okorowo, if the former Governor is allowed to contest again, it would breach the 1999 constitution as amended which limits service as Governor to a total of 8 years.
Mr Slyva’s candidacy was challenged by another member of the APC, Demesuoyefa Kolomo.
