Nigerian gospel singer Chidinma Ekile has shared details of a transformative 40-day spiritual retreat marked by isolation, fasting, and intense prayer.
The former Project Fame winner revealed that the period, spent largely in seclusion, brought emotional turbulence and moments of deep spiritual struggle. She recounted nights spent outdoors, seeking divine connection through music and personal devotion.

Chidinma described a particularly disturbing episode during the retreat, where she felt lured towards a cliff’s edge by a compelling inner voice. However, she said a supernatural barrier prevented her from taking a fatal step, which she interpreted as divine intervention.
Reflecting on the experience, she likened it to a spiritual surgery, saying it altered her outlook on life and material success.
Her testimony has drawn wide responses, with many praising her courage and faith.
