Award-winning novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie will headline the maiden edition of the ‘Things Fall Apart’ Festival, scheduled to run from 29 June to 5 July 2025 in Enugu State.
Organised by the Centre for Memories – Ncheta Ndigbo, the festival builds on five years of commemorating ‘Things Fall Apart Day’, now expanded into a full cultural week honouring the legacy of Chinua Achebe.

Adichie, seen as one of Achebe’s foremost literary heirs, will deliver the keynote on the theme ‘Masculine, Feminine, Human – The Dialogue of Complements in Things Fall Apart’, examining gender, identity and human complexity in Achebe’s seminal novel.
Highlights include stage performances, art exhibitions, film screenings, literary salons, and tech-driven storytelling. Organisers say the festival seeks to match Achebe’s global stature with programming that bridges tradition and contemporary discourse.
