Chinese Defence Minister Li Shangfu is visiting Russia and Belarus in a show of support for the nations amidst attempts by the West to isolate them over the invasion of Ukraine.
China’s defence ministry says Mr Li is expected to deliver an address at the Moscow Conference on International Security and meet defence leaders from Russia and other nations.
Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, is also due to speak at the conference.

Russia’s official TASS news agency reports that his presentation will focus on searching for ways to develop outside Western mechanisms, including strengthening multilateral associations of a new type.
Representatives from about 100 countries and eight international organisations had been invited to attend.
