Court Allows Federal Government to Reopen Terrorism Case Linked to Bello Turji

A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted the Federal Government’s application to reopen a terrorism case against suspects linked to the notorious bandit leader Bello Turji.

The government had filed the application after the charges were previously struck out for lack of diligent prosecution. Justice Emeka Nwite held that the federal government’s motion was meritorious and ordered the matter relisted on the court’s cause list.

The reopening of the case comes amid ongoing efforts to bring terrorism suspects to justice and strengthen prosecution of high-profile security cases.
