The Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has dismissed the petition of Mr Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging the election outcome in the state.
The Tribunal said its dismissal was based on the APC’s decision to withdraw its petition against the victory of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The APC had sponsored Mr. Cole in the challenge that was filed.
The tribunal, which sat in Abuja, had earlier dismissed the other petitions filed by the governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Rivers State, Mrs. Beatrice Itubo, and that of Innocent Ekwu and the Allied People’s Movement (APM) for lacking in merit.
