Dangote Accuses Oil Marketers of Sabotaging Tinubu’s Economic Reforms

Billionaire industrialist Aliko Dangote says some major oil marketers and traders are working to frustrate President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to restructure Nigeria’s economy. He made the comment on Monday while speaking to State House correspondents after meeting with the president in Abuja.

While speaking, Dangote clarified that his recent remarks about fighting cabals in the oil sector did not refer to the leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited. He praised the current management, saying the group chief executive officer, Bayo Ojulari, and the non-executive chairman, Ahmadu Musa Kida, bring the technical expertise and managerial competence needed to reform the industry.

He expressed appreciation to the president for assembling what he called a highly professional team to steer NNPC Limited towards operational excellence and long-term sustainability. Dangote said their leadership is aligned with Tinubu’s vision of building a $1 trillion economy.
