At least 33 Palestinians have been killed and over 100 injured in Israeli airstrikes on two schools sheltering displaced families in Gaza City’s Tuffah neighbourhood.
Gaza’s Government Media Office said 29 people, including 18 children, died when Israeli missiles hit the Dar al-Arqam School on Thursday. Civil Defence officials reported at least four strikes on the building.

The Israeli military said it had targeted a Hamas command centre in Gaza City used to coordinate attacks, though it was unclear if this referred to the school strike.
Rescue efforts have been hampered by a lack of equipment, as emergency teams struggle to retrieve those trapped under rubble. Meanwhile, Gaza’s healthcare system is nearing collapse.
A month-long Israeli siege continues to block vital aid, worsening severe shortages of food, fuel, and medical supplies in the besieged enclave.
