Edo PDP Chieftain Cautions Party On Choice Of Governorship Candidate

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP,) in Esan Central Local Government of Edo State, and the Itohan of Esanland, Mathew Emiohe, says the party must tread carefully and avoid the political situation between Ex-Governor Nyesom Wike and his political ‘godson’, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, by not imposing a candidate on the party.

He also denied being part of any meeting with Governor Godwin Obaseki where Asue Ighodalo was allegedly presented as a likely candidate of the party, and he called on the governor not to make the mistake of fielding what he called, a ‘stranger’ and ‘unpopular’ candidate, if he intends to win the 2024 governorship.
