Tomorrow, over two million registered voters in Ondo State are expected to cast their ballots to elect the state’s governor for the next four years. However, past voter turnout trends suggest a lower participation rate. According to data from the Civil Societies’ Situation Room report on the 2020 Ondo Governorship election, only 40.3% of registered voters, or 595,213 individuals, turned out during the last polls.
Speaking with Radio Now’s Oluwatosin Ejalonibu, Femi Adebayo, a Senior Programmes Officer with Kimpact Development, expressed concerns about voter turnout for Saturday’s election.

As residents of Ondo State head to the polls tomorrow, the only thing that will be on their mind is that whoever emerges as the Governor of the State after the polls would hit the ground running and find solutions to their pressing issues.
