FCT Minister Revokes Land Allocations for 568 in Abuja, Including Governors and Politicians

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has ordered the revocation of land plots belonging to 568 individuals in the Maitama II area of Abuja. The action affects several prominent political figures, including state governors and party leaders, who failed to settle their Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) bills after the expiration of a grace period.

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) issued a notice, stating that those who did not pay their C-of-O fees were in violation of the regulations. However, people who cleared their outstanding bills on or before January 15, 2025, are exempt from the revocation order.

Among those affected are Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, and PDP National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu. Other prominent figures include former Enugu Governor Chimaroke Nnamani, Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro, and NiDCOM Chairman Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
