The Federal Government has announced a ban on the transfer of students in Senior Secondary School Three (SS3) between schools across the country. The directive applies to both public and private secondary schools.
In an announcement, Boriowo Folasade, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, said the policy is aimed at safeguarding the integrity of senior secondary examinations, including the West African Senior School Certificate Examination and the National Examination Council examinations.
Officials noted that transfers at the final stage of secondary education often complicate proper documentation and monitoring of candidates.

Under the directive, schools are no longer permitted to admit SS3 students transferred from other institutions, regardless of the circumstances. The Federal Government warned that any school found violating the directive would face sanctions, although specific penalties were not outlined.
