The federal government has inaugurated Nigeria’s first-ever Liquefied to Compressed Natural Gas (LCNG) hub in the North-East, marking a major step in its “Decade of Gas” agenda.
Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, described the Greenville LNG-led project in Yola, Adamawa State, as a beacon of hope for a region long hampered by infrastructural challenges.

The LCNG facility aims to provide cleaner, cheaper energy alternatives and create jobs, offering a model for other investors to replicate nationwide. Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri praised the project’s alignment with efforts to combat climate change and ensure healthy air for residents.
Greenville Chairman Eddy Broeke said the company would invest over $1 billion in Nigeria’s gas infrastructure, pledging similar projects in other states.
