A fire has destroyed the popular Kara Market in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, wiping out shops and property worth millions of naira in the early hours of Sunday. Thankfully, no lives were lost in the incident, though, according to eyewitnesses, the flames rapidly engulfed much of the market before firefighters could respond.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Abuzaid Yari, called it an unfortunate event and extended the government’s sympathies to those affected, praying for their swift recovery. He praised the prompt action of the state fire service, which helped prevent the blaze from spreading further.

The government pledged continued efforts to protect lives and property in Kebbi State. Meanwhile, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and investigations are underway.
Residents and traders have been urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to guard against future incidents.
